There is very little easy living in the Blue Mountains of Jamaica. However, simple organization and foresight will play a part in greasing the wheels of everyday life up here. Hurricane Beryl hit us on July 3 – and we were fully prepared. Good fortune manifested itself in wind speeds significantly less that the predicted Cat 4. While there was no major damage to our buildings, we did have a huge clear up operation, hampered by no mains electric and a section of our road washed away, affectively trapping us here in paradise! Mains electricity has returned and the road is now ‘ driveable’ – in a Blue Mountain way. Repairs are in hand and repainting the cottages is also underway. We plan to reopen in October.
