Late coffee crop.

By

Due to our ever changing climate, each year is different regarding all or crops – plantain, banana, citrus, pears, vegetables etc. In particular, this year, our coffee crop. We appear to be having a last minute rush! The crop is very late, and due to the decision last year to ‘cut back’ under productive coffee bushes and replanting to replace old coffee bushes the crop will be small. Still, enough for us to process and roast for guests staying at the farm. Our Blue Mountain coffee is complimentary in all rooms and is served with meals.   Our coffee tour, also complimentary to guests, from bush to roaster is one of our most popular attractions. Brave the road and savor a unique experience at Lime Tree Farm.

Cascara – Coffee Cherry Tea

By

One drink you must try when you’re at Lime Tree Farm is the delicious trendy new drink ‘Cascara’ or coffee cherry tea (not to be confused with ‘ cascara segrada’.)  The Blue Mountain coffee skin is removed washed and sun dried and then served as a hot or cold tea, with honey, ginger, cinnamon or nutmeg. A sweet refreshing drink with very little caffeine!

Canadian Birds a welcome sight during Hurricane Season at Lime Tree Farm!

By

We’ve had a couple of visits lately from an unusual type of bird – The Canadian Airforce search & rescue wing have come to Jamaica to assist the Jamaican Defence Force in the event of a hurricane.
Three helicopters & their crews are stationed at Up Park Camp in Kingston & have dropped in for a couple of cups of coffee, I have to say it’s nice to know their here, so far we’ve had a very quiet storm season so lets hope they just come for coffee & aren’t needed on more serious business!
